Youth Action recognizes Peirce College with its 2013 Inspiring Service Award

Youth Action is a local non-profit organization making significant headway in our area by inspiring Philadelphians to make a positive impact on the community. It's a mission that we support at Peirce College, so we were honored when Youth Action bestowed us with its 2013 Inspiring Service Award for our significant contribution to shaping communities.

The organization sent us a letter congratulating us on this achievement, and we wanted to share an excerpt from it with you:
"This award acknowledges your steadfast commitment to supporting student civic engagement since your beginnings. The phenomenal mentoring and resources you provide to students generates their enthusiasm for leadership and service. This acknowledgement congratulates you for your achievements in service to Greater Philadelphia and ongoing support of the service work of Youth Action within our 10 years of existence …
We have an enthusiasm for individuals and organizations that support/share our mission to empower underserved students. From its inception in 1865, Peirce College has been passionate about equipping its students to make a difference in their communities, workplaces, and the world. YA admires your work in helping students develop into socially conscious leaders. It is our pleasure to honor the amazing work you are doing."
Youth Action is a student-led, non-profit organization that is designed and managed by high school and college students. Youth Action was launched in 2003 with a vision of inspiring fellow students to empower communities through civic engagement programs and service. 10 years later, that mission still exists and more than 150 members of Youth Action and 5,000 students have been impacted by its service programming.

We feel fortunate to have received this honor from Youth Action, and will be attending the organization’s 10th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, May 3 to receive the award.
