It’s an unfortunate fact that 2.2 million people are
imprisoned in the United States. In the
Criminal Justice field, professionals work to meet the needs of imprisoned
populations while also trying to prevent re-entry into the system.
The Petey Greene Program’s mission is to supplement the
educational resources of local prisons by providing correctional facilities
with additional tutors at no cost. They partner with colleges and universities
to train students as volunteers to tutor prison inmates in their local
penitentiaries.
Interested in learning how you can be a volunteer? The Petey Greene Program will be hosting an information
session at Peirce College on Thursday, November 13 at 6:30 in room 42, or you
can visit their website at www.peteygreene.org.
